Get ready to lace up for one of the most scenic and exhilarating races in Texas! The 10th Annual Summer Causeway Run is your once-a-year opportunity to experience the breathtaking Queen Isabella Causeway on foot — with the Gulf breeze in your hair, the sunrise on the horizon, and miles of stunning coastal views.

Race Options:
Choose your challenge!

  • 10K Run – Starts at 7:00 AM

  • 5K Run – Starts at 7:30 AM
    Both races start at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center, take you across the stunning Causeway, and finish with a beachfront celebration at the Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island.

Hello, Summer Causeway Run Participants!

We’re excited to welcome you to the 10th Annual Summer Causeway Run on Saturday, September 13, 2025! Below is everything you need to know to make race day smooth, safe, and unforgettable.

 

🚐 Shuttle Information (event day)

• Before the Race From South Padre Island: Shuttle service will run from Beach Waterpark to the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center starting at 5:00 AM and ending at 6:30AM

•Before the Race From Port Isabel: Shuttle service will run from Sutherlands in Port Isabel to the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center starting at 5:00 AM and ending at 6:30AM

• After the race: Return shuttles from (Beach Waterpark) South Padre Island to (Sutherlands) Port Isabel will run continuously from the finish line area beginning at approximately 8:00 AM.

• Please arrive early to allow time for boarding — the last shuttle to the starting line departs at 6:30 AM sharp from both locations.

⚠️ Race Day Safety Rules

For everyone’s safety, please keep in mind:

• For safety reasons, bikes, scooters, wheelchairs, and any motorized vehicles are not allowed on the      Causeway.

• Participants must follow all volunteer and law enforcement directions.

•Children 5 years or older must have a registration on file (must be accompanied by an adult).

• Bib numbers must be worn to cross the Causeway and board shuttles.

• 5K participants may NOT enter Isla Blanca Park.

• Stay hydrated — water stations will be placed along the route (there will be NO water station on the Causeway per TXDOT regulations), but you are welcome to bring your own personal water bottle.

• When crossing over the Causeway, please remain within marked lanes at all times.

Pick up your race packets early to avoid the rush!

• Mon., Sept. 8 – 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center

• Tue., Sept. 9 – 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM – Fleet Feet (McAllen)

• Wed., Sept. 10 – 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM – Weslaco Chamber of Commerce

• Thurs., Sept. 11 – 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center

• Fri., Sept. 12 – 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center

• Sat., Sept. 13 (Race Day) – 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM – Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center

(Due to long lines, we cannot guarantee on-time check-in if you pick up on race day — please plan accordingly.) Note: If you did not register by August 12, event t-shirts are first come, first served.
