SUMMARY:39th Annual Causeway Run & Fitness Walk
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for participating on our 39th Annual Causeway Run & Fitness Walk! \nThank you to the City of Port Isabel\, City of South Padre Island\, all our participants\, sponsors and volunteers for making this event another great success! \nPlease join us for our 8th Annual Summer Run taking place on Saturday\, September 16\, 2023! \nFollow us on our Facebook page for more event photos and any future events: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/portisabelchamber \nClick link for all race results: \nhttps://iaapweb.com/results/22/04_15_23_causeway.htm \nScheduled for the 15th of April\, 2023\, the 39th Annual promises to be even bigger and better. This year’s event will also follow the 6.2 mile (10K) course starting at the Port Isabel Community Center\, continuing on to the Queen Isabella Causeway and over the Laguna Madre Bay and ending in front of Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. Awards and snacks will be held immediately following the race/walk at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. \nSTART: Causeway Run starts at 7:00 a.m. sharp at the Port Isabel Community\nCenter. Fitness Walk starts at the Community Center at 7:15 a.m. \nEARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: $35 (10k Run); $30 (5K Walk); Students & Military\nwith ID $25 (10K Run or 5K Walk) before March 14\, 2023. Queen Isabella Blvd.\,\nPort Isabel\, TX 78578. \nLATE REGISTRATION FEES/On-SITE REGISTRATION: After March 14\, 2023\, $40 (10K Run); $35 (5K Walk);\n$30 Students & Military with ID (10K Run or 5K Walk). Late registration can\nbe processed at the Port Isabel Community Center  April 10 -13\, 2023\, Monday – Thursday\, 9am-5pm\, Friday April 14\, 3pm-7pm and Saturday\, April 15th\, 5:30 am-6:30 am. Online until April 13\, at 10:00 p.m. \nThe Chamber office will be closed Friday\, April 14th. \nALL CHECK IN/PACKET PICKUPS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE PORT ISABEL COMMUNITY CENTER:                             Monday\, April 10th- April 13th 9am-5pm\, Friday\, April 14th 3pm-7pm and Saturday\, April 15th 5:30 am-6:30 am.\n \n T-SHIRTS ARE GUARANTEED TO THE FIRST 1\,500 PARTICIPANTS TO CHECK IN. SIZES CANNOT BE GUARANTEED. \nRACE COURSE: 10K (6.2 mi.) Starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. One major incline. Water stations at locations along course and at the finish line. Police and EMS protection is provided. The run is USA Track and Field certified: Certification #TX15006WG. (See map on reverse) \nFITNESS WALK COURSE: 3 miles. This course starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at the Padre Balli statue on South Padre Island. THIS IS NOT A RACE. IT IS A PARTICIPATION WALK. \nShuttle buses will be provided starting at 6:00 am from Louie’s Backyard to the start line at the Port Isabel Community Center\, 213 Yturria . \nABSOLUTELY NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RUN OR WALK! \nAWARDS & PRESENTATIONS:  Medals will be given to the overall 1st through 3rd male and female winners as well as 1st through 3rdplace winner in each male and female age division of the 10K. Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions.
