About OSO Grande Marina Established in 1972, OSO Grande Marina is a waterfront community located in Port Isabel’s desirable “The Hill” area. Under its current ownership since 2018, the marina has been revitalized into a welcoming and convenient destination for residents, boat owners, and members of the local fishing community. OSO Grande Marina offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle with water access, boat slips, kayaks, paddle boards, a sundeck, barbecue and picnic areas, a fireplace, ice machine, fish-cleaning stations, bike storage, parking, surveillance cameras, and more. The marina also carries a unique piece of local history. The property’s name, OSO Grande, meaning “Big Bear,” is connected to a story about the original builder’s young son and his beloved stuffed bear. Today, the bear remains part of the marina’s identity, with distinctive bear-shaped metal signs displayed on the buildings at 713 and 721 North Tyrurria Street. Through years of ownership and improvements, OSO Grande Marina has transformed its buildings and docks while maintaining its connection to the Port Isabel community.
